After more than 2 years of preparation and construction, we are pleased to announce the opening of Taki Tambo Lodge, a hotel located on the Takiwasi grounds.

This project has been in our plans for many years, and here it is finally ready: we now have an adequate accommodation proposal adapted to our therapeutic activities.

Lodging in Tarapoto in the best conditions
This is a simple but comfortable hotel, which can accommodate up to 24 people in 12 rooms, decorated and equipped with care. The hotel has a common room, with a shared kitchen and a living room overlooking the garden. The place is airy, bright, comfortable and simple at the same time, in the middle of the trees, close to both the city and the forest.

The proximity to Takiwasi and the specific internal rules (silence and tranquility, absence of drug use, diet adapted to the intake of plants, etc.), provide the best context for a stay that is both pleasant, therapeutic and productive. It is also a place that allows rich encounters with people from all walks of life who share the same sensitivity and a similar interest in traditional Amazonian medicines.

An autonomous but internally managed operation
The Taki Tambo Lodge has its own website to book directly online, and is present on all known platforms (Booking, etc.). The hotel operates with its own staff and under a legal form distinct from the non-profit association that the Takiwasi Center has always been and will remain.

This project aims to contribute to financing the operation of the Takiwasi Center, thanks to the loan of four people close to the interests of the Center. Takiwasi provides the land and holds 51% of the shares, planning to become 100% owner once the loans are repaid.

A medium-term impact
Takiwasi does not receive any subsidies from public funds or private foundations and, by this means, tries to ensure its sustainability in the long term, beyond the people making up the current team. Since the COVID19 crisis, Takiwasi's finances have been in difficulty, hence our numerous calls for donations, but this initiative is precisely trying to resolve these drawbacks, by betting on the success of this project in the medium term.
