Donate to Takiwasi

Dear friends, due to the uncertainty generated by the current global health crisis and the consequent economic recession, we are very concerned about the continuation of Takiwasi's activities.

The Peruvian government has extended the national lockdown until May 10 (for now). Therefore, in Takiwasi for several weeks we are only assuring the basic activities of care for our patients who were already in residential treatment for addiction and we were forced to suspend all other activities.

The possible extension of confinement measures such as the closure of borders for further 90 or more days will greatly affect our future functioning, as we will not be able to receive new patients from other regions or carry out the various therapeutic activities scheduled for this year 2020 such as the retreat/diets which represent the main source of income to sustain us and thus guarantee the care of our local patients.

Takiwasi is an NGO that has been self-financing for 28 years through the offer of such health services and the sale of natural products. Our activities are also carried out thanks to the small individual contributions of generous people, committed to our work and who have personally experienced the transforming power of traditional Amazonian medicine.

We know that this is a shared adversity, since millions of people have seen their lives, jobs and sources of income affected by this global crisis. We want to convey our solidarity and encouragement, hoping that those of you who have the possibility will continue to support us with donations.

We want to thank with all our heart all those who have already donated, thus allowing us to raise valuable funds, although still insufficient to secure the budget for the next critical months.

On our website you can find various ways to donate to Takiwasi, including online payment by credit or debit card, which for many is the simplest and most immediate option. Each donation, even the smallest one, can make a difference.
