Online Course: Introduction to the Therapeutic Model of Takiwasi

Dear friends, we want to invite you to enroll in the new online course Introduction to the Therapeutic Model of Takiwasi taught in Spanish by the Takiwasi Center's therapeutic team.

Presentation
Since 1992 the Takiwasi Center has been dedicated the rehabilitation of people with addiction problems. Our work has had different national and international recognitions. Likewise, the originality and effectiveness of our model has interested researchers in anthropology, ethnology, medicine, psychology and psychiatry and has been the object of study in more than 60 international research projects.

Our therapeutic model articulates traditional Amazonian medicine with contemporary psychotherapy techniques. Takiwasi proposes a work of personal evolution through the use of medicinal plants in a ritualized and controlled context with a professionalized therapeutic team, trained in the containment and accompaniment of these processes.

New YouTube channel of Takiwasi

Dear friends, we want to invite you to subscribe to the new YouTube channel of the Takiwasi Center (Subscribe). Unfortunately we have been the victim of a hacker attack that has caused the closure of the previous channel and so far it has not been possible to regain access to it. It is for this reason that we have migrated our collection of documentaries, conferences, testimonials and interviews to a new channel.

Among the various videos you can find a conversation about plant spirits and ikaros with Edgardo Tuanama, healer at the Takiwasi Center. In the Peruvian Amazon, it is considered that a certain group of medicinal plants known as master plants have the power to teach and heal the individual through their spirit, which is responsible for transmitting to the healer also the ikaros or sacred songs that are used precisely to "call" for the spirit of the plant and receive its help.
